What is Second Interview? and Why Second interview?

What is Second Interview? and Why Second interview?

The candidates who pass the screening interview are selected for a second round interview. Second round interviews typically involve more detailed interview questions about the applicant, their qualifications, and their ability to perform for the company. Second round interviews may include interviewing with multiple interviewers including management, staff, executives, and other company employees.

Many companies interview candidates for employment twice, or even more often. When companies have a multiple interview process, the first round of interviews are screening interviews that are used to determine which applicants have the basic qualifications required for the job.

TIPS for Second Interview:

1. Research anyone who you know you're meeting with if you were given names ahead of time.
This doesn't mean compiling a detailed dossier. It just means that you want to know what their role is, how long they've been with the company, and in some cases, what their professional history was before this job.

2. Don't ask same questions that you asked last time.
This might happen if you're talking to new people, and it even might happen if you're talking to the same person as earlier because people may have go-to questions and forget that they've already asked you them. Don't sound annoyed or give an abbreviated answer on the assumption that they can get the details from someone else. And definitely don't say, "Well, I explained that to Larry." Answer pleasantly and thoroughly, the way you would the first time the question was asked.

3. What You Didn't Say
Was there something you thought you should have mentioned during your first interview? Or was there a question you had difficulty with? The second interview will provide you with the opportunity to expand upon your responses from the first interview.
Review the notes you took during the first interview, to see what you might have missed talking about and what you can clarify or add.

4. Take the Time to Say Thank You After the Interview

Taking the time to say thank you after a job interview not only is good interview etiquette. It also reinforces your interest in the position and shows the interviewer that you have excellent follow-up skills. Use your thank you letter, as well, to address any issues and concerns that came up during the interview.

5. Checkout the Company

How much do you know about the company that just contacted you to schedule an interview? It should be plenty, and all the information you need is available online.
Here are tips on how to research a company, get the inside scoop on the company culture, and use your connections to get an interview advantage.

Some sample Questions for Second Interview:

1. What challenges are you looking for in a position?
2. What do you know about this company?
3. Questions about your career goals.
4. What do you know about this company?
5. What can you contribute to this company?

Mistakes To Avoid in a US Visa Interview

Mistakes To Avoid in a US Visa Interview

1. Avoiding Eye Contact

Eye contact can make or break an interview. It is one of the most important techniques to master. Eye contact portrays confidence, trust, engaging, and professional. Having a good eye contact can be a bridge between you and your dream. You can verbally tell absolutely everything an officer wants to hear, but your eyes can tell completely a different story. Don’t overlook this extremely valuable tool.

2. Not being thorough with supporting documentation

Your supporting documents should validate the purpose of your travel and ties to your home country. It’s a key communication tool for assessing and evaluating your past experience and present standing. Documentation reflects your areas of weakness, as well as strengths, it backs up what you speak, the facts – who, what, where, when. Showing up for a visa interview with thorough documentation will help you feel more prepared and confident, it increases your chances for a positive outcome.

3. Not Researching the University

Very often applicants show up for a visa interview well dressed and prepared to answer about themselves, but goes blank when they hear questions like, what made you to choose this university? How this university benefits you? Arguably one of the most critical part of interview preparation is making sure you fully know about the university you are going to attend. Digging into a University’s past, present, and future is now easier than ever. Researching the university will have a tremendous benefit, it demonstrates to the officer the preparedness and your attention to details. Make sure to equip yourself with as much information as you possibly can.

4. Fail to rehearse

Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse – I can’t stress it enough. In the days prior to your interview, prepare a list of questions you expect to be asked, write down your responses, then, out loud, practice those extensively. Make rehearses as realistic as possible, have your friend ask the kind of questions you expect to face in a interview. Rehearsing doesn’t make you perfect, but it is guaranteed to make you better. With intense rehearsing, you will be able to polish your tone, adjust the length of your responses until someone says, “You’re visa is approved!”

5. Making a weak first impression

First impression do really matter the most, it tells a visa officer how serious you are about interview and career. Making a weak first impression restrict conversation with you, even at the very beginning. Your impression must reflect the kind of person you are, comfortable and confident, easy to communicate, neat and clean, and with bundle of enthusiasm. To gain trust on someone may probably take years but to make a strong first impression takes few seconds. Think like you will never get a second chance to make a good first impression. Take every chance, to present your best self, being professional and polished.

INTERVIEW TIPS FOR FRESHERS

INTERVIEW TIPS FOR FRESHERS

Preparation: Prepare the subject well you have applied for. Lack of knowledge about the subject may at once ruin your chance of getting the job. Study well about the course and its content. Sleep for at least six hours so that you don't look tired the next day.

Good communication skills
: I believe this is the most important skill which interviewers use to distinguish the best from the rest. Make sure you are confident and clear in what you speak. No blabbering. Do not use jargons which you don’t know. Try to be simple and fluent in your vocabulary.

Salary: Do not discuss money at the first instance. The principal obviously won't negotiate on the salary grounds.  He or she will offer you the amount you deserve and what is being given to the other teachers of your grade.

Good Analytical skills : Practice lot of puzzles! I know that puzzles are probably not the best way to choose candidates but you have to accept the fact that they are heavily used in elimination rounds. Make sure you practice variety of puzzles. Even if you are unable to solve a puzzle at interview, it is very important to show that your approach was structured. That’s all recruiters look for

Get your questions to be asked ready : In general the last question is “Do you have any question for us”. Note that, the interview does not end until unless you leave the room. So you need to kill this question as well. Show your research here. Talk about something new which the company has got into. Try understanding the role better. Try touching up on a few popular debates in the field.

Be enthusiastic: Show your dedication towards the job. Be enthusiastic and energetic. The job of a teacher is to not only educate but help the students in every possible way.

Documents Keep all your documents well organized in a folder. Also be on time, preferably 15 minutes before so you get time to settle down and calm your nerves.

Strength : Make sure you can support your strengths by giving examples. You can prepare before but don’t falter while talking. It will not create a good impression.

Social networking : Social networking sites like Facebook, Linkdin, Twitter can be used for work opportunities and conversing with other people improving your interpersonal skills.
